Add and Edit a Record

 
The following steps walk a user, with write access to the module and architecture, through adding and editing a record in Collector.

1. With the desired architecture loaded, ensure you are in the Data Editor pane of the Outlook Bar. Select the node of interest in either the By Viewpoint tab or the A to Z tab.
 
2. For this example, Environment is the node of interest and was selected from the A to Z tab. It has no records, and thus nothing initially displays in the Content Pane. If a node has records, you would see them in the Content Pane once the node was selected.
 
3. Click the Add button from the Ribbon Bar. This adds a single record to the selected node.
 
You can also add multiple new records at once, using the Add pull-down list:
 
4. The Content Pane displays the element headings (such as Environment Property, Name, and Description) and an empty row. These headings indicate the elements associated with the node.
 
5. You can now enter information for the various elements in the blank record.
