Add Funding to a Project

 
The following steps walk a user, with write access to the module and architecture, through adding funding to a project in LAM. This process also applies to a data set. A funding vehicle must exist before funding can be assigned to a project.

1. With the desired architecture loaded, ensure you are in the Gantt tab of the Content Pane.
 
2. Find the project you want to fund. Double click on the project name or event bar to open the Project Information window.
 
3. Select the Funding tab. Click the plus sign to add a new funding execution.
 
4. In the Funding Execution Information window that pops up, Funding Vehicle and Authorization to Proceed are the only required fields.
 
5. Select a funding vehicle from the drop-down list, or add a new one using the plus icon . Once a funding vehicle is selected, its unexecuted funding amount is displayed. This is the amount of money left on the vehicle (i.e., not yet allocated to a project or task).

6. Fill in the project cost amount. Select the date the funding was authorized; the Authorization to Proceed date defaults to the date the execution was created. Fill out other fields as desired. Click the Apply button when finished.
 
If you are adding a new version of the funding execution (such as for cost changes), be sure to reopen the older version and uncheck the Include in Funding box. This value are used in the Funding Actuals view; all included funding executions will be displayed, which may result in duplicate entries.
 
7.  The execution is now listed in the Funding Executions field. Click Apply in the project window to complete the process.
 
8. The funding vehicle identifier is appended to the project identifier in the Gantt view. Once a project is funded, its dates can no longer be edited.
