Project Information Window

 
The Project Information window is displayed when a project is double-clicked in the Gantt or when a project is added via the Ribbon Bar. The Project tab is discussed below; the other tabs are covered separately.
 
Projects are the core of the LAM architecture and define the cost and schedule of the project portfolio. LAM projects are used in RAM to mitigate risks and develop the planned burndown chart.

Title

1. Title
The title identifies the window as a Project Information window. If an existing project was selected, the window title includes the project identifier (but not the project title).

The Project Information window contains tabs that are used to fully describe the project.

Fields

3. Fields
These fields can be filled out by a user with write permission to the architecture. Fields marked with an asterisk are mandatory.
  •  Identifier: short label used in the title and the logs to uniquely identify the project; it is also used as the project reference in RAM
  •  Title: text label that names the project; it is recommended to use a descriptive name that others can readily understand
  •  Period of Performance: defines the project's schedule. Start dates must be after 1/1/1753, and End dates must be before 12/31/9999. A warning message pops up if the dates are outside this range. You can edit these fields directly or click the button to display a calendar.
  •  Duration Months and Days fields: automatically calculated after period of performance dates are added. You can also select a start date and manually enter the number of months and days to calculate the end date.
  •  Status: current stage of the project; default values are Approved, Canceled, Complete, Draft, Funded, Pre-Approval, and Tracking
  •  Organization: group responsible for completing the project
  •  Manager: individual (by name or title) in charge of the project
 
For the Status, Organization, and Manager fields, the user can create a new entry or select an existing entry from the menu. To create a new entry, type the name into the field and press Enter on the keyboard; for Status and Organization, you can also click into a different field to save the new entry.

Window Buttons

4. Window Buttons
The Clear Changes button resets all fields on all tabs of the Project Information window to the original values; it is only available when editing an existing project. The Delete button immediately removes the current project and all of its children. This button is only available when editing an existing project. A confirmation window pops up:
The Apply button saves edits made in any tab of the Project Information window, and then closes the window. The Cancel button reverses edits made in any tab of the Project Information window, and then closes the window.
