User Interface Overview

The user interface (UI) for the Architex modules contains similar elements, though not all modules have all elements. The common UI elements are described below (Reporter module used as an example).
Tool tips are available for some UI items and provide a quick description of a control, report, or record. Hover the mouse over an element to see its description; buttons and reports are highlighted a light yellow when the cursor is over them.
User Interface Overview

Application Menu Bar

A menu bar is found at the top of the page of all screens: login page, welcome page, and module pages. The login menu bar provides different functionality from the application menu bar shown here.

Version Number

The version number shows what version of Architex the user is accessing. Click on the number to bring up the change log.

Ribbon Bar

The Ribbon Bar is found near the top of the page, underneath the menu bar. Ribbon Bars:
  • Are dynamic and context sensitive
  • May have several tabs (such as the Home and View tabs shown here)
  • May have one or more Ribbon Bar groups
  • May contain context groups
  • Can be minimized by clicking the caret or chevron icon in the upper right-hand corner of the Ribbon Bar
  • Have a quick help link to the User Guide

Outlook Bar

The Outlook Bar is found on the left-hand side of the UI, and is organized in a tree structure. Click the gray arrow box to minimize the Outlook Bar and provide increased Content Pane viewing space. NOTE: LAM does not have an Outlook Bar.

Content Pane

The Content Pane is the main viewing area for data or reports. When an item is selected from the Outlook Bar, it is displayed in the Content Pane.

Status Bar

The Status Bar is located at the bottom of the screen. It provides current information, such as the availability of a module, the architecture currently loaded, the architecture framework, user name, and data service accessed.
